2021Academic Year Short Course Review「Geometry of Space」

From December 6th to December 8th, Yuan center's 3D Structural Geometry Workshop held in Eslite Bookstore (Suzhou) ended successfully. The workshop was directed by artist Adam Williamson (Adam Williamson), and he He is also an outstanding graduate of the Crown Prince Foundation Academy of Traditional Arts.

Participants come from different professional backgrounds, such as jewelry design, graphic design, interior design, as well as automotive interior design and the organic tea garden industry.

The workshop introduced regular polyhedron and semi-regular polyhedron to the students through geometric painting and the construction of three-dimensional models with wooden sticks and strings. After that, the relationship between Platonic polyhedra and Archimedes polyhedra was also discussed together.

The students not only learned about the different forms of these polyhedrons in nature, but also had a profound understanding of their different interpretations and expressions in the history of Eastern and Western art.

The trainees were very active in participating in this workshop and became interested in the philosophy and methodology of the Crown Prince Foundation Academy of Traditional Arts (PSTA) and Yuan center . They are very willing to discuss the essence of geometric design principles together at the theoretical level.

Therefore, the workshop has been accompanied by very interesting viewpoint discussions, and produced some colorful hand drawings and exquisite and lightweight three-dimensional models.
