Since 2016, PFSTA has been working with two major academic institutions in Beijing: the Beijing Institutew of Fashion Technology (BIFT) and the Central Academy of Fine Arts (CAFA). In each case, PFSTA has been delivering an annual autumn course which is integrated into their academic calendars for a small group of designers. These programmes consist of focused engagement with principles of geometry and design with reference to Chinese cultural heritage.

CAFA has requested, due to enthusiastic feedback from their students, that this relationship be developed further to include more teaching and collaborative projects. 

PFSTA has welcomed several students from CAFA to its London MA programme and from BIFT on shorter PhD-level research exchange programmes. They have all been extremely skilled and well-qualified, raising the bar for their fellow PFSTA students.
